Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Social and Political Department Chief Ali Hasanov believes Azerbaijan became one of the leading countries in the world in 2010 due to the development achieved in all areas.

It is not accidental that an influential magazine The Business Year has devoted one of its editions to Azerbaijan, Hasanov said at the presentation of The Business Year's issue devoted to Azerbaijan. "Azerbaijan has achieved greater economic success in recent years," he added.

"Peoples' income and the state budget increased in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan's state budget has reached a record figure at $20 billion in 2011. The figure was $1.4 billion seven years ago. Azerbaijan became a world leader in all industries in 2010. Therefore, the magazine devoted the special issue to Azerbaijan in 2011," Hasanov said.

A country, to which the special issue is devoted, is promoted during the year as the state that achieved a considerable success as a business and economic partner, and many thousands of the magazine's circulation is distributed to businesses throughout the world, he said.

Hasanov said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev gave an interview to The Business Year.
"The president has not given such an extensive interview over the past five years. President Aliyev's interview to this magazine, which is his first interview to the printing press, demonstrates he appreciates this magazine's activity," Hasanov added.

Hasanov underscored that heads of friendly and neighboring states with Azerbaijan also voiced their views about Azerbaijan in this edition. These are Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Prime Minister of Sweden and many other influential figures.

Hasanov said the edition about Azerbaijan in English language will be an excellent source of information about the country.
