Azerbaijan, Pakistan to combat jointly transnational crime

Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Colonel General Ramil Usubov met the Pakistani delegation led by the chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Khalid Shameem Wynne on Thursday, the Ministry's press-service said today.
Welcoming the guests, the Minister noted the friendly relations between the two countries have historical roots, and stressed that since the establishment of Azerbaijani-Pakistani diplomatic relations they have been developing successfully within the international and regional organizations at the level of strategic alliance.
Then the Minister informed the guests about the fight against crime and crime situation in the country.
Usubov stressed the need for joint efforts in the fight against certain manifestations of crime, including international crime, illegal migration and human trafficking, illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and their precursors.
General Khalid Shameem Wynne thanked for detailed information and added that Pakistan would continue to be close to Azerbaijan and continue to support its position.
The sides also discussed a number of other issues.
