Bulgaria may become a guide for Azerbaijan's further integration into the European Union, chairperson of the Bulgarian National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva, on an official visit to Azerbaijan, told media in Baku today.
During the visit the Bulgarian parliament speaker met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
"The meeting with the Azerbaijani President was fruitful," Tsacheva said. "We discussed cooperation in energy, agriculture, transport and other fields. We agreed to continue joint projects."
Negotiations on cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Bulgarian legislative bodies within the international and regional organisations, as well as the development of relations in various fields were held during the visit.
Meetings between chairperson of the Bulgarian National Assembly and Azerbaijani officials are planned to be held within the visit.
