The Turkish Igdir province connects Turkey with Nakhichevan, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the opening of the airport in Igdir today, TRT Haber TV channel said.
Erdogan also said that the development of the Igdir province contributes to Azerbaijan's development.
"Several projects are planned to be implemented to develop the province of Igdir," he said. "Igdir development contributes to Azerbaijan's development."
According to the PM, the establishment of the airport in Igdir will attract investors to the province. This will significantly improve the welfare of its residents.
"The flights from Igdir to Ankara and Istanbul will be initially made four times a week," Erdogan said. "In August, the flights will be daily."
