Iranian, Beninese presidents meet in Porto-Novo

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Beninese counterpart Thomas Yayi Boni started their official talks in Beninˈs capital, Porto-Novo, late Sunday, IRNA reported.

Earlier today, the Ahmadinejad and Yayi Bon attended a joint press conference in Porto-Novo.

During the press conference, President Ahmadinejad underlined the expansion of bilateral ties between Iran and Benin.

ˈThe two countries can benefit from each otherˈs experiences and facilities,ˈ President Ahmadinejad said.

He expressed the hope that during his visit to Benin, the two countries could reach agreements in the fields of trade, agriculture, metallic industries and exchange of technical and engineering services.

The Beninese president, for his part, said that Iran and Benin advocate peace and friendship among nations, adding that the two countries cooperate with each other on the same basis.
