The normalisation of relations between Turkey and Israel in no way affects the relations between Ankara and other countries in the region, Turkish President Abdullah Gul said in an interview with the Kuwaiti Al-Rai newspaper.

Gul said Turkey wants to establish stability in the region and wishes the Palestinians to live in peace in their state.

As for the situation in Iraq, President Gul said that the political crisis in the country is a concern for Turkey. Ankara is concerned about the transition of an Iraqi political crisis moving towards an interethnic and inter-confessional war.
