On Thursday the prosecutor's office of Egypt ordered to release the ex-President Hosni Mubarak from the Cairo prison, Al Jazeera channel reported.

Earlier, the Cairo Criminal Court decided to relieve him of one of the main accusations in corruption.

It was also previously reported that the main argument of the defence is that Mubarak has returned the equivalent of 450,000 euros, in illegally obtaining of which from Information Ministry, he was accused.

The ex-president Mubarak has been in prison for over two years. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment for his involvement in the deaths of protesters in Egypt, but then the sentence was cancelled by a higher court.
