Baku, Azerbaijan, July 13

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is expecting to have a bilateral meeting with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during the Azerbaijan-Russia-Iran summit in Baku on Aug. 8, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ebrahim Rahimpour told reporters July 13.
Rahimpour said the parties will also discuss the situation in Syria, RIA Novosti reported.
“Russia and Iran have very serious cooperation on Syria, which is yielding good results,” he added.
Rahimpour also said Azerbaijan’s position on the Syrian issue has many similarities with the positions of Russia and Iran, especially on the peaceful resolution of the Syrian conflict and the need to eradicate terrorism.
