BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has rejected another unfounded, hostile statement by the Armenian Foreign Ministry dated April 10, 2022, the Azerbaijani ministry said, Trend reports.
The ministry strongly condemned the destructive position of the Armenian side at a time when decisions were made on steps towards normalization between the two countries.
"On what basis is Armenia, which subjected to ethnic cleansing about one million Azerbaijanis, grossly violated the fundamental rights of these people for almost 30 years, committed numerous war crimes during military aggression, including the brutal murder of 613 civilians in one night in Khojaly, carrying responsibility for the fate of nearly 4,000 Azerbaijanis who went missing back in the early 90s and mass graves, some of which were recently found, and still evading the responsibility, speaks of massacres and ethnic cleansing?!,” the ministry emphasized.
“The recent statement by the Armenian Foreign Ministry, encouraging separatism on the territory of Azerbaijan, interfering in the internal affairs of another state in violation of international law, undermining peace-building efforts in the region, demonstrates that normalization and peaceful coexistence are not the true intention of Armenia,” the ministry said.
“Regardless of Armenia's choice, Azerbaijan will continue to take steps towards development and progress within its international borders in accordance with its obligations and international law,” added the ministry.
