BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. The State Fund for Environmental Protection has been provided a payment of 2.6 million manat in 2023, Deputy Prosecutor General Heydar Mammadov said at a conference in Ganja on May 30, Trend reports.
Meanwhile, the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan held a business conference entitled "Environmental offenses: education and legislative regulation" in Ganja.
Addressing the event, Deputy Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Heydar Mammadov said that coordinated activity of the state, law enforcement bodies, and courts, effective environmental legislation, and legal innovations for a green world are important on the way to ensuring a clean and healthy environment.
Complex activities continue in this field by the prosecutor's office bodies, together with the Ministry of Ecology and other state bodies. Work is carried out to solve environmental problems, protect the environment, and restore ecological balance.
“Last year, the Prosecutor General's Office initiated and sent for investigation 133 criminal cases of environmental offenses, initiated proceedings on 36 cases of administrative offenses, and in 33 cases submitted submissions to the relevant organizations to eliminate violations, causes, and conditions that caused them," he added.
