The Interior Minister (IM) of Azerbaijan colonel-general Ramil Usubov received on 23 August the chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Rene van der Linden.
The subject matter of the meeting was discussion of the observance of the rule of law, human rights and freedoms principles in the law-enforcement activities, the IM press service told Trend.
The PACE chairman voiced confidence, the police bodies will go on to play an active role in the process of democratic reforms, carried out in Azerbaijan under the support of the Council of Europe.
