President of Russia Vladimir Putin may participate in the forthcoming 27August meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia on settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in Kazan, the charge d’affaires of Russian Federation in Azerbaijan Petr Burdikin said in his exclusive interview to Trend.
He has not ruled out such a possibility, noting, the meeting may take place only with the consent of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Ilham Aliyev and Kocharyan.
The diplomat reminded, Presidents of the three countries had already met in such a format at the talks on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem, stressing, “it gave then impetus to the process of the conflict settlement”.
Once the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia find it appropriate, the Russia’s President will take part at certain stage of talks, the diplomat said.
The meeting of the heads of states of Azerbaijan and Armenia is expected within the framework of the next CIS summit in Kazan.
