Considering the discovery of the bird flu virus in 3 persons who have died in Salyan district recently, more prophylactic work will be undertaken in that district. Azerbaijan Minister of Agriculture Ismet Abbasov told journalists about it in Tuesday, Trend reported citing Lider TV channel.
According to Abbasov, all domestic and migrating birds are being culled now in the 3km radius off the outbreak center.
After that a 10 km zone will be regarded as a danger zone and 10km zone as the territory to be under surveillance. All these measures are now undertaken in Salyan, noted the minister.
It is necessary to note, that the World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed the bird flu virus preliminary diagnosis in three persons who died earlier. According to Azerbaijan Ministry of Health data, researches conducted by WHO has fully confirmed the preliminary diagnosis of bird flu presence in the mentioned above dead persons. Whereas, samples taken from 6 other persons with suspected bird flu did not yield positive results.
