UAE businessmen to invest in the Azerbaijani tourism sector and develop cultural ties- Eldar Salimov

Businessmen from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are expressing their interest in the tourism sector of Azerbaijan, the UAE ambassador in Baku told Trend.

Tourism development matters were in the focus of the official visit of the Azerbaijani minister of Culture and Tourism, Abulfaz Garayev to UAE. This was a first visit at ministerial level which was accompanied by a group of businessmen. He met the ministers of culture, tourism, economy and the crown prince of Ras- el Haim

emirate and representatives of several large companies including Dubai Properties. The UAE officials showed the large interest in developing ties with Azerbaijan and agreed about the return visit of UAE officials to Baku.

The forum on tourism opportunities in Azerbaijan was held on April 2 in Abu-Dabi with the participation of highest business circles. The similar forum has been held in Ras-el- Haim on April 3. Both of them have discussed possibility of investing into the tourism sector in Azerbaijan

It was also agreed to hold Azerbaijani Culture days in UAE at the end of this year, the ambassador told. Azerbaijani culture days have already been held in UAE in 2004 and in 2005 UAE culture days took place in Baku.
