Turkey Not Set to Receive Azeri Gas  Azeri Energy Minister

Gas production from Azerbaijan field Shah Deniz in the Caspian Sea is expected to commence on September 30 of this year, the Minister of Industry & Energy of Azerbaijan Natiq Aliyev told Trend.

All work is carried out within the defined program to start the gas production from Shah Deniz on September 30. At the moment, we do not foresee any change, the Minister told.

Touching up on the delivery of gas from this field to Turkey, Aliyev stressed that as yet the pipeline in the territory of Turkey is not ready. The gas may be delivered up to the border of Georgia with Turkey. At present, the pipeline has been filled and the gas may be exported to Turkey after readiness of the pipeline in the territory of turkey, Aliyev stated.

However, we are not confident that all the work outlined in the project for the pipeline in Turkey has been carried out at 100%, and the gas will not be delivered, the Minister added.
