The Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan briefed the media that Azerbaijan supports developing the relations with Turkmenistan, commenting on the issue of restarting the activities of the Turkmenistan Embassy in Baku, Trend reports.

Khalafov remembered that at former times, due to the financial problems, the Government of Turkmenistan stopped the activities of its Embassy in Azerbaijan. But despite this, the full activities of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkmenistan are still continuing. The Deputy Minister said that Azerbaijan not only supports maintaining the relations with Turkmenistan at the current level, but also wants to develop them and tries doing it.

This question is raised at all official meetings with Turkmenistan. I personally discussed this question with the Turkmenistan Foreign Minister. Azerbaijan has a wish to resolve this issue, and I consider that there are no problems between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. There are potentials to develop the relations. I think that these relations will develop at higher level in the near future, Khalafov said.
