Iranian embassy Refutes Reports on Closing of Borders with   Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Agayeva, A. Hasanov / The Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan refuted media reports on shut down of state border between Azerbaijan and Iran.

The embassy reported that the borders are open and there is no problem of the kind. Residents of the southern regions of Azerbaijan, over the past four days the border between the Azerbaijani and Iranian cities Bilasuvar has been closed by the Iranian customs service.

Iranian frontier guards promise to open the border late on 4 April, Trend Regional Correspondent reports. Iranian frontiers permit to pass borders only by permits for simplified border passage. Only residents of frontier districts located in 40km of the state border enjoy a right for such permits.
