Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Alizade / MP Mubariz Gurbanly stated the necessity to adopt a law banning smoking in public places.
Addressing the parliamentary sitting on 17 April, the Deputy Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), noted that within the adoption of the law on Tobacco products, the document does not contain an article banning smoking in public places. Injecting changes to the law in this respect therefore needs to be addressed.
Gurbanly highlighted the fact that many European countries have adopted this law. The number of smokers in public places has increased dramatically in Azerbaijan.
