Azerbaijani Citizens May Leave for   Turkey without Visa from 1 August

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The decision of the Government of Turkey to cancel the visa regime with several Turkic-speaking countries, including Azerbaijan, will come into force from 1 August, a source stated at the Embassy of Turkey in Azerbaijan on 31 July.

According to 19 July 2007 decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkey No 12441 (published in official newspaper on 29 July), non-vise regime will be introduced for the citizens of Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan who have citizen passports needed only for the tourist visas to Turkey with a period of up to 30 days.

According to the decision, which will take effect from 1 August, the citizens of the above-mentioned countries who leave for Turkey by possessing at least $30 for each day of their stay in the Country will have the opportunity of non-visa entry-exit. The tourists should submit necessary documents, highlight the goal of their visits, period of stay and place of their further accommodation.

The decision testifies Turkey's wish to further strengthen the close co-operation with Turkic-speaking states.
