Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. К.Zarbaliyeva / The death rate resulting from traffic accidents has increased by 19 people within seven months of 2007 compared to the same period in 2006.
The Central State Traffic Police Department at the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry has reported to Trend Information Agency that there was a reduction of 19 accident cases and 18 people involved in the country. Traffic accidents in Baku decreased by 66 cases and by 65 victims.
During seven months 514 people have died as a result of traffic accidents. A total of 1,795 people were injured as a result of 1,600 accidents. Some 211 people died as a result of 845 traffic accidents, 972 were injured in the capital within this period. A total of 705 accidents linked with hit-and-run driversoccurred in the Republic and 453 in Baku City.
