OSCE Appoints Special Representative to Elucidate Violation of Georgia’s Air Space

Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr A. Gasymova / A special OSCE representative has been appointed to Georgia in order to elucidate the circumstances of the incident which occurred on 6 August when an unidentified airliner violated Georgia's air space, according to the press release of OSCE.

On 6 August, an airplane interfered into Georgia's airliner from Russian side and threw down a bomb which did not explode. Russia did not confirm the airliner to belong to Russian Air Forces. According to an international commission, the unidentified airliner three times passed Georgian border. The remains of the bomb were destroyed by Georgia.

The OSCE Chairman, Spanish Foreign Minister, Miguel Angel Moratinos, appointed a special representative on Georgia, the former Croatian Foreign Minister, Miomir Zuzul. Zuzul will begin his visit to Georgia and Russia next week to elucidate the problem.
