(showbizspy.com) - Australian pop princess Kylie Minogue urged fans not to judge troubled singers Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse by bad headlines.
According to London's Metro newspaper, the 'Locomotion' hit maker says she empathizes with singers Spears & Winehouse: 'I do. I don't know either of them but what would frustrate me and what sometimes still does is a headline gives you three or four words worth of person, personality and life and ideals and aims and failures and everything that you are.'
She made her comments ahead of being given the Music Industry Trust Award at the Grosvenor House hotel in London this evening.
Kylie has also denied reports that she sacrificed family for fame: 'I wouldn't say sacrificed, I've been devoted. But I could have married a boyfriend when I was younger and be doing the school run now and who's to say that would be the more rewarding life for me?'
Kylie also insisted that she's not worried that she'll still be single ahead of her 40th birthday: 'I'm not scared of turning 40. I joke about it with my girlfriends and I think it's gonna be quite liberating.'
'I've always heard through the years, as a woman, 40 is when you really come into your own and I think it's happening,' she told Britain's Q magazine.
Kylie also expressed her joy -over winning her latest award: 'It is an incredible honour to be the recipient of this year's Music Industry Trust's Award and I am truly thrilled to be recognised in this way.'
David Munns, Chairman of the Awards committee said: 'There is no doubt that of our 15 Award recipients to date, Kylie is by far the most glamorous.'
