Azerbaijani Football Team can Gain Four Points in First Two Matches: Former Chief Coach

Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 September/ Trend , corr R. Ergun/ The former chief coach of the Azerbaijan's national team hopes that the team will gain four points in the first two matches of selection round of World Championship with Wales and Lichtenstein.

"The Azerbaijani footballers will experience some psychological stress as the match with Wales will be first in the selection round. But the last testing matches of the team displayed that we can hope for a good result in a match with Wales," the former chief coach Vagif Sadigov said to Trend .

Sadigov has been chief coach of Azerbaijani national team for four times. His career as a chief coach is noted for the success of the team in friendly matches.

Former coach said if Azerbaijani team makes more efforts it can draw match with Wales. "I think our team can gain one point in a clash with Wales. Later we can increase our points up to four by winning over Lichtenstein in Baku. This can be very good result for the start of the selection round," Sadigov added.

Azerbaijan team will meet with Wales on 6 September and Lichtenstein on 10 September.

Sadigov said Azerbaijani team tries to get accustomed to a new system of game under the guidance of German chief coach Berty Vogts. "Vogts tries to make footballer to get accustomed to his own system of game. It will consume some time. But I hope that our footballers will get used to it soon".
