Radio Europe + has asked the court to recognize illegal the decisions of the National Television and Radio Council (NTRC) of Azerbaijan to early withdraw the license from the radio station.
During the trial, held at Baku Economic Court 1 regarding the lawsuit of NTRC in connection with the withdrawal of the license from the radio Europe +, the defendant side made counter accusations.
The Court did not ensure counter accusation of radio Europe +.
The representative of the radio said that the court decision will be appealed to the Court of Appeal.
In connection with this, the process was postponed to an indefinite period.
According to NTRC representative Togrul Mammadova, with such actions, the defendant side wants to artificially extend the duration of the license.
License to radio Europe + was issued by NTRC on 8 December 2006 for six years.
The decision on the withdrawal of license of radio Europe + was made by the National Council on December 30, 2008 because of violations of the rules for the use of language by the radio.
