International relations of AzerTAj expand, strengthen from year to year, and this will continue in the future, Aslan Aslanov, the head of the state news agency AzerTAj said to journalists.

He said increasing of Azerbaijan's authority in the international arena and increasing the economic power of the state have a positive impact on the expansion of international relations of AzerTAj and more active presence in the global information space.

"AzerTAj is a member of an alliance of the world's most authoritative news agencies - the Alliance of News Agencies of Asian and Pacific countries, bringing together 40 agencies from 33 countries," Aslanov said. State News Agency since 2004, is a member of the alliance, and since 2007 - a member of the Office of the Executive Committee, which is the governing body of the alliance.

Aslanov said since 2008 the agency is also a member of the European Alliance of News Agencies. "31 countries are represented in this alliance, and, besides our agency, CIS is represented only by Russian ITAR-Tass and the Ukrainian Ukrinform," he said. He also noted that the agency takes active part in other Alliance of News Agencies.
