Ecology Ministry: Water discharge reduced in Kura river in late August

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources conducted regular monitoring of pollution of transboundary rivers Kura and Araz in the third decade of August, the ministry told Trend.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources conducted regular monitoring of pollution of transboundary rivers Kura and Araz in the third decade of August, the ministry told Trend.

The flow of water in Kure declined by 17.6 cubic meters per second and was 89.6 cubic meters per second in the third ten days of August compared to the second one.

According to the results of monitoring where the river is subjected to cross-border pollution in the territories of Georgia and Armenia, the allowable impurities of phenol and copper compounds, which are specific pollutants in the water, as well as the amount of nutrients, were revealed.

Water flow in the river Araz amounted to 57.3 cubic meters per second.

The oxygen regime of water at all sites remained at the level of 5,56-6,64 milligrams per liter and changed at the level of sanitation.
