Lithuanian citizens may receive visa to Azerbaijan at embassy in Vilnius

Lithuanian citizens wishing to visit Azerbaijan should apply to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Vilnius to get a visa, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said.
For more information about visas, interested parties should apply to the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission.
Azerbaijan has made changes to its procedures for issuing visas to foreigners and stateless persons entering the country.
The changes are made in accordance with a presidential decree, the Foreign Ministry's website reported.
According to the decree, foreigners and stateless persons may apply directly to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry to obtain visas in the following cases - in cases mentioned in interstate and intergovernmental agreements; when arriving in the country upon the invitation of the Azerbaijani president, PM, or parliamentary speaker, as well as the head of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, or the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Supreme Council chairman; upon invitation of the Constitutional Court chairman, prosecutor general, ombudsman, or CEC chairman; in case of arrival in the country by employees of diplomatic missions and consulates of foreign countries, international organizations, individuals, who are members of a delegation of administrative and technical services, their family members, as well as foreigners visiting the country as part of diplomatic missions; in case of arrival to eliminate the consequences of emergency situations upon the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry's official request, in case of death of a family member living in Azerbaijan.
According to the decree, the Cabinet of Ministers' decision dated Feb. 23, 2010 on rules for foreigners and stateless persons applying to obtain visas to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has been regarded as invalid.
Based on the decree, the Cabinet of Ministers is instructed within one month to ensure the unification of the government's legal acts with this decree and to report to the president.
The ministry is instructed with informing the relevant authorities of foreign countries about the changes.
