The Council of the CIS Government Heads accepted the document initiated by Azerbaijan. The documents are "Concept of the cultural cooperation of CIS member states", and "Key measures in the cultural sphere of the CIS member states up to 2015" prepared to implement this concept, the Culture and Tourism Ministry told Trend.
The Council of the CIS Government Heads adopted documents proposed by Azerbaijan in May 2007 at its recent meeting in Minsk, the Culture and Tourism Ministry told Trend.
The concept provides for intergovernmental cooperation and coordinated positions of the CIS member-states with long-term prospects in the sphere of culture.
The concept says the development of creativity and innovation, the preservation and strengthening of friendship and cooperative relations between the CIS countries are major factors in the cultural field to achieve sustainable socio-economic cooperation of the CIS member states.
These documents have been agreed at the expert level and approved by the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in 2010.
Azerbaijan was presented at the event by the Head of the International Relations and Protocol Sector of the Ministry's International Relations & Cultural Affairs Department, and Head of the Working Group on Cultural Policy of CIS Member States, Rauf Pashayev.
