Azerbaijani People's Writer awarded in Romania

Azerbaijani People's Writer, the secretary of the Azerbaijani Union of Writers Chingiz Abdullayev was awarded in Romania for merits in literature, as well as for his special achievements in the development of cultural relations between the two countries. An international literary festival dedicated to Tudor Argezi was held in the Romanian province of Gorj on May 19-22.

Azerbaijani People's Writer, the secretary of the Azerbaijani Union of Writers Chingiz Abdullayev was awarded in Romania for merits in literature, as well as for his special achievements in the development of cultural relations between the two countries.
An international literary festival dedicated to Tudor Argezi was held in the Romanian province of Gorj on May 19-22.

The festival, dedicated to poet Tudor Argezi's (1880 - 1967) memory, who is regarded as the greatest classic of the Romanian literature, was organized with the support of this country's Writers' Union, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Romania told Trend.

Prestigious award, which is handed over at Tudor Argezi festival and which bears his name, was presented to writers who have outstanding merits in literature.

For many years, this award was only handed over to the Romanian writers, while it is also presented to foreign writers from this year.
Along with Azerbaijan, representatives of Bulgaria, Turkey, Germany, Greece and Serbia attended the festival this year.
During the ceremony organized on May 22 in the poet's home museum, which is located in the city of Targu Carbunesti, People's Writer, the secretary of the Azerbaijani Union of Writers, the head of the Pen Club Chingiz Abdullayev was honored with Tudor Argezi award for his achievements in literature, as well as for special merits in the development of cultural relations between Romania and Azerbaijan.

During the ceremony the Azerbaijani writer was presented with a document on his election as an honorary resident of Targu Carbunesti.
Addressing at the awards ceremony, Abdullayev spoke about developing relations with Romania, and stressed that the expansion of bilateral cultural relations meets interests of both countries and peoples.
