BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 11. Maserati’s strategy in Azerbaijan is evolving alongside the country’s growing focus on electric vehicles, Head of Overseas Markets at Maserati Philippe Claverol told Trend in an exclusive interview.

“In Azerbaijan, the government is making significant efforts to promote electric vehicles, which is quite unique in the world. While Maserati is traditionally known for its high-performance petrol engine cars, the brand recognizes its responsibility to offer electric options as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability,” he said.

Philippe Claverol noted that all Maserati vehicles available in Azerbaijan are offered with both petrol and fully electric options, aligning with the country’s green transition goals. Introducing electric cars to the market is essential for the planet, especially after COP29 in Azerbaijan, where the need for action was emphasized. This policy is a great opportunity for Maserati, and will help to grow its business in Azerbaijan.

“To further expand its presence in Azerbaijan, Maserati recently opened a new dealership in Baku, representing the latest generation of Maserati showrooms. We have a new partner in Azerbaijan, and we have chosen them because they are really trusted and have a strong reputation for aftersales service, which is very important to us. The new dealership aims to provide an enhanced experience for local customers, showcasing the brand's commitment to offering the best service and customer satisfaction,” the representative of Maserati emphasized.

He also emphasized the growing economic opportunities in Azerbaijan, noting that the country’s successful entrepreneurs and companies provide a solid foundation for Maserati’s operations.

“We know that we are selling luxury cars, and our market in Azerbaijan is developing. This is why it is important for us to be in Azerbaijan, particularly in Baku, and to have a very good partner who can offer the best aftersales service,” he said.

Philippe Claverol mentioned that Maserati is working on future innovations and continues to develop models that cater to both luxury and sustainability. Maserati is currently offering models like the GranTurismo and GranCabrio with both petrol and electric engines. Additionally, Maserati is working on the supercar MC20 and recently introduced the new GT2 Stradale, a dynamic sports car perfect for entrepreneurs who value both performance and everyday usability.

“Maserati's approach to customization through its Furioserie program also provides customers in Azerbaijan with a unique opportunity to personalize their vehicles. We offer the option for customers to choose bespoke colors and interiors. If a customer wants a specific color, we can make it happen. This level of customization reflects the ultimate luxury we offer to our clients," he explained.

He added that Maserati’s strategy will continue to focus on three main areas: luxury cars, electric vehicles, and sports cars.

"We are committed to bringing joy—what we call Alegria—through Italian luxury, sports performance, and now also electric mobility," Philippe Claverol concluded.
