The Azerbaijani Ombudsman Elmira Suleymanova met with the chairman of the Women Council of the country in the Academy of Labour and Social Relations of Trade Union Confederation of Azerbaijan on May 19, 2006, Trend reports quoting the ombudsman offices press service.
Suleymanova delivered a report on topic Gender equality and woman rights and answered numerous questions.
Then, a discussion was held on the important problems of Azerbaijani women, as well as the role of ombudsman in protection of the rights of weaker sex representatives. The necessity to continue these actions was spelled out in the discussion.
