Value of industrial production in Baku increases

The volume of production of industrial goods and services in Azerbaijan’s Baku grew in 2021, the State Statistical Committee told Trend.

According to the committee, this figure amounted to 44.7 billion manat ($26.3 billion), up by 2.7 percent compared to 2020.

Some 77 percent of the industrial production accounted for extractive industry, 20 percent - processing sector, 2.3 percent - production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, while 0.7 percent - the water supply, waste treatment and recycling sector.

The share of the private sector in the industrial sector was 84.2 percent. The share of industrial products in the total production volume amounted to 91.3 percent, industrial services - 8.7 percent.

As of January 1, 2022, the stock of finished products in the warehouses of industrial enterprises amounted to 282.5 million manat ($166.1 million), a decrease of 61.4 million manat ($36.1 million) or 17.9 percent on annual basis.

The warehouses of industrial enterprises also store products purchased from other enterprises and intended for resale in the amount of 81.1 million manat ($47.7 million). This figure, decreased by 10.2 million manat ($6 million), or 12.5 percent over the year.

In 2020, 74.6 percent of industrial products were manufactured in the mining industry, 22.5 percent in the processing sector, 2.1 percent in the production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, and 0.8 percent in the sector water supply, cleaning and waste processing.
