BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. The activities of German companies in Azerbaijan are focused on the logistics sector and transport solutions, Executive Director of German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce Tobias Baumann told Trend.
According to Baumann, DHL, Rhenus Logistics, Heizmeyer Inh and a number of other German companies are engaged in the logistics of the products of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
"In the field of energy, cooperation is being carried out between SOCAR and the German Siemens and UNIPER. This is a pilot project in the field of energy efficiency," he said.
Moreover, according to the executive director, German companies in Azerbaijan are specialized in the field of heavy equipment maintenance.
"For them, Azerbaijan is a market for equipment, consumer goods and specific solutions in the engineering industry. A number of these companies have representative offices in Baku," added Baumann.
He also reminded that Germany's total direct investments in the Azerbaijani economy exceeded $200 million.
