BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19. The trade turnover of Azerbaijan with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries from January through April 2022 exceeded $1.7 billion and its share in the total Azerbaijani foreign trade turnover amounted to 33.11 percent, Trend reports vie the bulletin of Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC).

In the reporting period, Azerbaijan's trade turnover with the CIS countries increased by $329.7 million (23.12 percent) on annual basis. The share of these countries in the total volume of import-export operations of Azerbaijan decreased by 1.72 percent - to 33.11 percent.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan's total foreign trade turnover grew by $5.97 billion (60.35 percent) compared to 4M2021 - from $9.8 billion to $15.8 billion.

Exports accounted for $11.8 billion in the structure of foreign trade turnover, up by $5.4 billion (85.78 percent) on annual basis.

The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 74.53 percent against 64.33 percent a year earlier.

Azerbaijan's imports from January through April 2022 increased by $511.6 million (14.5 percent) from $3.5 billion to $4.04 billion. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 25.47 percent against 35.67 percent recorded in 4M2021.
