BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover increased by 73.3 percent or $16.8 billion from January through September 2022 (considering the statistical cost of crude oil and natural gas, the customs clearance of which was not completed) compared to the same period from $22.97 billion up to $39.8 billion, Trend reports referring to the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to the committee, $29.5 billion of foreign trade turnover fell on export, which is $14.8 billion (101.79 percent) more than in the same period the previous year. Azerbaijan's share of export in foreign trade turnover amounted to 74.15 percent against 63.68 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports increased by $1.9 billion or 23.35 percent year-on-year - from $8.3 billion up to $10.2 billion. Azerbaijan's share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 25.85 percent against 36.32 percent the previous year.
The foreign trade surplus increased year-on-year by more than $12.9 billion, or more than 3.05 times - to $19.2 billion against $5.2 billion from January through September 2021.
