Turkish Port of Gemlik reveals cargo traffic volume

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 19. The Turkish Port of Gemlik transshipped 10.96 million tons of cargo from January through November 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports citing TurkicWorld.

According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag handled 976,344 tons, while vessels under the flags of other countries transferred 9.99 million tons of freight.

"In the reporting period, the Gemlik port delivered 514,907 tons of transit cargo," the ministry said.

Totally, Turkish ports handled 6.75 million tons of transit freight from January through November 2022.

Meantime, ports of Türkiye received 361.98 million tons of cargo.

Ships under the Turkish flag transferred 25.79 million tons of cargo, whereas ships under the flags of other countries – 336.18 million tons.

Moreover, during this period, Turkish ports transshipped 73.75 million tons of transit cargo.
