BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 2. Turkish ports handled 32.03 million tons of cargo in December 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.
According to the ministry, ships flying the Turkish flag delivered 2.5 million tons of cargo, while ships under the flags of other countries – 29.498 million tons to local ports.
In addition, Turkish ports transshipped 7.26 million tons of transit cargo in December 2022.
From January through December 2022, the ports of Türkiye transported 394.09 million tons of freight.
During this period, cargo traffic by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 28.4 million tons, whilst by ships under the flags of other countries – 365.6 million tons.
Thus, Turkish ports handled 81.018 million tons of transit cargo in 2022.
