BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. A surplus has been recorded in the state budget of Azerbaijan since the beginning of 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of the country, from January through May 2023, the revenues of the country's state budget exceeded 13.96 billion manat ($8.2 billion), which is 12.2 percent more year-on-year.
Moreover, state budget expenditures reached 11.1 billion manat ($6.5 billion), which is 6.6 percent higher year-on-year.
Thus, as of late May 2023, a surplus of 2.8 billion manat ($1.6 billion) was formed in the state budget.
The nominal GDP of Azerbaijan in the specified period amounted to 49.58 billion manat ($29.16 billion).

In 2022, the state budget revenues of Azerbaijan increased by 16.2 percent, reaching 30.6 million manat ($18 million). The budget expenditures last year increased by 16.7 percent compared to 2021 and amounted to 32 million manat ($18.8 million). Thus, a budget deficit of 1.3 million manat ($760,000) was formed.
