BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 7. From January to July 2023, Azerbaijan's revenue through new-generation cash registers totaled 12.3 billion manat ($7.2 billion), a 17.3 percent increase over the same period previous year, Trend reports.
According to the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, more than 91,889 new-generation cash registers were installed in trade and service facilities as of August 1 this year.
Their installation will take place in stages during the second quarter of 2019.
In 2022, the revenue generated by new-generation cash registers will exceed 19.5 billion manat ($11.4 billion).
Non-cash payments in Azerbaijan totaled 58.56 billion manat ($34.45 billion) in 2022, up 21.1 billion manat ($12.4 billion) or 56.26 percent from 2021. Debit cards were used in 562.1 million transactions worth 54.2 billion manat ($31.8 billion), up 54.9 percent, and credit cards were used in 80.8 million transactions worth 4.3 billion manat ($2.5 billion), up 78.3 percent.
