BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 23. The export value of Azerbaijan's pharmaceutical products amounted to $14.49 million from January through September 2023, Trend reports.
The data from the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan showed that this is 7.51 times more year-on-year.
Azerbaijan imported pharmaceutical products worth $448.88 million from January through September this year (down 5.47 percent).
Meanwhile, imports of pharmaceutical products amounted to 3.56 percent of Azerbaijan's total imports, while exports amounted to 0.05 percent of total exports.
The country's foreign trade turnover decreased by 1.79 percent, or $711.06 million, from January through September 2023 year-on-year, from $39.8 billion to $39.1 billion.
Exports accounted for $26.48 billion in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which is $3 billion or 10.27 percent less year-on-year. The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 67.74 percent, up from 74.15 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports in the reporting period increased by $2.3 billion, or 22.55 percent, year-on-year from $10.29 billion to about $12.6 billion. The share of imports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 32.26 percent, up from 25.85 percent a year earlier.
As a result, the balance of foreign trade turnover, while remaining positive during the review period, declined year-on-year by over $5.35 billion, or 27.84 percent, to $13.8 billion against $19.2 billion in the 2022 review period.
