Saudi Aramco updates on scheduled gas output dev't projects

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 12. Saudi Aramco's gas and ethane output in 2023 stood at an average of around 10.7 billion standard cubic feet per day (bscfd), compared to 10.6 bscfd in 2022, Trend reports.

At the same time, according to the company, work on the Jafurah Gas Plant, a crucial component of the Jafurah unconventional gas field, kept rolling in. The plant is set to kick off production in 2025, to steadily up the ante on natural gas deliveries. The goal is to hit a sustainable rate of 2 bscfd by 2030.

Moreover, building and getting things in order at the Tanajib gas plant, as it plays a key role in the Marjan development program. The plan is for the plant to be up and running by 2025, contributing an extra 2.6 bscfd of processing capacity from the Marjan and Zuluf fields.

Furthermore, Hawiyah Unayzah Gas Reservoir Storage, the Kingdom's inaugural underground natural gas storage, hit its peak injection target of 1.5 bscfd. The initiative aims to contribute up to 2 bscfd of natural gas for reintroduction into the Master Gas System by 2024.

Aramco also hit a milestone by tapping into the first batch of unconventional tight gas in its South Ghawar operational area, beating the initial schedule by two months. The facility boasts a raw gas processing capacity of 300 mmscfd and a condensate processing capacity of 38 mbpd.

Meanwhile, as of December 31, 2023, Aramco had a total processing capacity for both traditional and unconventional raw gas of 19.1 bscfd (compared to 18.3 bscfd in 2022). This capacity mainly supplies the MGS.
