BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. In 2023, Azerbaijan utilized 2.034 billion tons of grains and legumes (excluding unprocessed rice) for food production, Trend reports via the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
This represents a 1.9 percent decrease compared to 2022, according to the data from the committee.
Of the total amount used, 87.6 percent, or 1.783 million tons, was allocated for the production of flour and cereals, marking a 2.1 percent decline.
Additionally, 33,330 tons were used for alcohol production, a 10.6 percent decrease. However, beer production saw an increase of 12.4 percent, using 65,821 tons of grains and legumes.
For other food products, 152,156 tons of grain were used, which is 3.3 percent less than in the previous year.
