As many as 50 enterprises have been licensed for the establishment in the Maku Free Trade Zone of the West Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020), an official of Maku Free Zone Organization Arash Yousefzadeh told IRNA, Trend reports.
According to Yousefzadeh, of these enterprises, the construction of 37 enterprises has already begun. These enterprises will be launched with an investment of 4 trillion rials (about $95.2 million) and 2,600 people are expected to be employed after launch of the enterprises.
The official added that the first phase of the industrial park in the Maku Free Trade Zone was launched at the end of last Iranian year (until March 20, 2020). There are currently 8 manufacturing enterprises operating in this industrial park.
“The enterprises have been launched with an investment of 450 billion rials (about $10.7 million). And 150 people were employed at these enterprises," he said.
Yousefzadeh noted that with the support of investors, the number of enterprises operating in the industrial park of the zone will be reached to 12 by the end of the current Iranian year (until March 21, 2021).
