Iran's companies are participation in projects related to reconstruction of Syria, however there are security and strategic issues that slow down the process, secretary of Iranian Technical and Engineering Services Exporters Association Bahman Salehi Javid told Trend.
He went on to add that these issues also prevent Iran from prioritizing its economic projects in Syria other others.
The share of Iranian companies busy in Syria isn't that great, but they're involved in various construction projects (water treatment plants, water transfer pipelines), as well as supply o refinery equipment.
Salehi Javid said Iran hopes to compensate the activity of its private sector companies in other countries, such as Turkmenistan, Oman and Iraq.
Iran's export of technical and engineering services to Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Azerbaijan is low and the country could increase its trade in the region by wiser economic choices, he said.
