Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend / There are all prerequisites for increase in price of grain in Azerbaijan in 2007. The relevant one is uncertainty to provide the country with necessary quantity of grain to keep food security.
Local manufacturers will produce about 2mnl tons of grains in 2007. However, the yearly grain demand of Azerbaijan is 3mln tons. It means 1mln ton will be imported.
The countries, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Ukraine, exporting grain to Azerbaijan faced with price problem. Bad weather conditions in aforesaid countries caused decrease of grain supply, and demand in grain caused rise in price.
The bill on 'Licensing' came to force in Kazakhstan in August 2007. In compliance with this bill all the countries exporting grain should pass license. Therefore, customs services insist on implementation of the new requirements of the bill.
The transforming stock of grain for 60 days is more save, the International Organization on Agrarian Issues and Food considers. Russian specialists consider the country should have three months stock.
