Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Khalilova / The eighth meeting of the Azerbaijani - EU Committee on Cooperation will be held in Baku on 28 September.
"This is a very important meeting, because it is the first meeting after adoption of the action plan on Azerbaijan within the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) and Memorandum on mutual understanding on strategic partnership in the energy sphere," Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev, the Deputy Foreign Minister, said on 25 September.
The previous and 7th meeting was held in Brussels on 26 October 2006.
The top issues will be examination of work done under the realization of these two documents, Mammad-Guliyev said. The meeting is expected to adopt protocols of the 6th EU subcommittee on trade, economy and legal issues and also the protocols of the first and second meetings of the subcommittee on transportation and energy. The discussions will also touch upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the EU's activities in this direction, namely because the EU stated its support in the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group in a resolution of this conflict.
At the proposal of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the meeting of the committee will be held at the Transport Ministry.
