Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. U.Ismaylova / The level of inflation made up 19.88% in Azerbaijan within January-September 2007, Gubad Ibadoglu, the head of the Economic Research Centre, said during a press-conference on 17 October.
According to Ibadoglu, the level of inflation amounted to 20.53% and 19.05% in regions. The highest inflation was observed in the service sector - 35.84%. The rise in price for foodstuffs made up 16.33% and nonfoods 14.75%.
The level of inflation in January-March made up 16.98% and 17.44% in January-July 2007.
The rate of growth of inflation made up 16% in January-September 2007 as compared to the same period in 2006, the Azerbaijani State Statistic Committee reported. Price of food increase by 15.3%, nonfoods - 10.3%, tariffs in service sphere - 24.6%.
