Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / By the request of Akkord Group of Companies, one of the leading companies in Azerbaijan, SECO sponsored Azerbaijan Corporate Governance Project (ACGP) delivered a workshop on the ACGP model charter for Azerbaijani Joint Stock Companies for the company's top management, mentioned by IFC statement. The workshop streamlined the importance of complying with good corporate governance practices and significance of practical implementation of modern business processes in Azerbaijani companies. Akkord Group of Companies has expressed willingness to advance its corporate governance practices to conform with international standards. The process of implementation of the IFC ACGP developed model charter has been regarded as a firm step towards this goal. Once the work on the model charter is completed, the company plans to continue its cooperation with IFC ACGP and benefit from further advisory services on corporate governance issues.
