Baku Airport Re-establishes Its Activity

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S. Aliyev/ Baku's Heydar. Aliyev International Airport re-established its activity on 8 January, a source stated in AZAL State Concern.

"The airport is running as normal" said the representative of AZAL. The airport had, due to bad weather conditions, terminated its services in the second half of January 7.

This morning outgoing flights to Germany and Dubai and incoming flights from Kazakhstan and Turkey were carried out. During the day flights to Kabul, Urumchi and Tbilisi will be in operation.

The flights to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic are expected to be re-established today which were also terminated due to bad weather conditions. Six flights are carried out to Nakhchivan each day.

Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is a restricted area as a result of Armenian- Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabagh conflict and the main means of transport is by air.
