Azerbaijan, Baku, 10 January / Trend corr. U.Ismaylova / The Azerbaijani State Property Register Service is preparing to take part in the census of enumeration in 2009, Arif Garashov, the head of the State Service, said in an interview with journalists.
The decision to hold a census of enumeration was taken after the order of the Azerbaijani President in June 2006, as well as after the approval of the plan of enterprises to hold a census of enumeration in 2009 by the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers.
According to Garashov, the State Service was ordered to hold the listing of the names of residences and regions, and to specify the administrative borders, names of streets, apartments and building numbers, develop the diagrammatic plan of cities, villages and settlements.
Garashov said that a special committee was established at the State Service, which has to submit a calendar plan in order to develop the diagrammatic plan of cities, villages and settlements by 1 March.
The diagrammatic plan of cities, villages and settlements of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan will be developed in 2008. The plans will be submitted to the State Statistic Committee of Azerbaijan.
The latest census of listings was held in Azerbaijan in 1999 which revealed that there were 4,138mln residents in the country.
